Grainless Chili-Lime Fish Taco

Who doesn’t love tacos!?! Skip added grains on the tilapia by throwing together a chill-lime rub instead. The fish has a bold, tangy flavour that pairs nicely with the cabbage slaw and soft tortillas. Fish tacos are quick and easy, plus make a great meal for any occasion. This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, paleo, soy free, refined sugar free.

Chili-Lime Fish Taco Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 8 tilapia fillets

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 lime juiced

  • 1 clove garlic (minced)

  • 1/2 cup red cabbage (sliced thin)

  • 1/2 cup green cabbage (sliced thin)

  • 1/2 cup cilantro

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1/2 tbsp avocado oil

  • avocado

  • red onion

Directions:

  1. In a small mixing bowl combine chilli powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder and salt. Add in lime juice and minced garlic and mix.

  2. Using hands rub spice mixture onto the fish, fully coating it.

  3. Over medium heat warm a greased skillet.

  4. Cook fish for approx. 3 minutes on each side until the fish is flakey enough to fall off a fork.

  5. As the fish is cooking – in a mixing bowl combine cabbage, cilantro, lime juice and oil.

  6. Assemble the tacos with the fish, cabbage mixture, red onion and avocado. Top with chipotle mayo, guacamole or sour cream.
